Staff PD:
We DO NOT meet as a staff this week. This week is a principal directed PLC. Grades 3-6 (and Monica) should meet in room 23 from 1:40-2:40 for CAASPP training. Grades K-2 should meet with your grade level team. You may wish to plan for your upcoming Reading and Writing Units, discuss Second Step Implementation, de-brief the strategy group work that we did with Elma and Beth or anything else of value to your team.
LCAP Student Surveys- grades 3-6:
By April 17, please have students in grades 3-6 to complete the survey in class. Encourage students to be honest and answer the last question in a productive and responsible manner. It should take about 20 minutes or so to complete.

Chromebooks Stay Here- beginning April 15th:
Beginning, Monday, April 15 please have your students leave their Chromebooks in the classroom. That will give you a week to make sure you have all the Chromebooks and chargers set up in the cart before testing starts. Students will be keeping their chromebooks at school during testing.
Below you will find our 2019 CAASPP testing schedule. As you and our students will remember, we had many technical difficulties during last year’s administration. These issues were experienced across the district and, I believe, negatively impacted our students’ results. Additionally, they heightened our students’ and our frustration levels. Due to this, the District recommends that we minimize the number of students testing at any time. Therefore, this year’s schedule is VERY different. Below the schedule you will find additional notes about ELD and planning times.

Rationale and Benefits:
- Heavy technical issues may have had an impact on student engagement with the test last year
- Kids reported stamina was a challenge
- Decreases strain on network
- Promotes attention to teaching and learning versus a focus on testing
- Allows time for TCRWP Test Prep unit
- Minimizes authentication failures at login
NEW THIS YEAR!
- Electronic Score Reports will be distributed through a “parent portal” either through Synergy or Illuminate. Updates and more information to follow.
