Weekly Update: February 25, 2019

Staff PD:

We DO NOT meet as a staff this week. Please meet with your grade level team. You may wish to plan for or discuss student results District Performance Tasks or the CAASPP Interim Assessments; identify a host for TC or anything else of benefit to your team.

Math Labsite:

Our Math Labsite is scheduled for March 4 and 5. I will share the schedule via email early this week.
The focus will be on Questioning and Conferring with students. Additionally, I asked Michelle Syverson to take some time to discuss systems for managing math tools.
If possible please review Chapter 5 from Thinking Together prior to us meeting.  Michelle Syverson included a graphic organizer that we will use when discussing the chapter.

New Furniture:

Thank you for submitting your chair orders forms. To help us prepare for the big changes ahead, please let me know what questions you have. I will do my best to answer them and/or provide professional development to support us in getting these questions answered.

What questions do you have about the process/timeline?

What professional development/learning would you like?

What questions/procedures would you like time with a grade level or grade level band to address?

Please email me any questions by Friday, March 1st and I will prepare a Frequently Asked Question document and begin exploring resources for professional development.

CAASPP LABELS– Labels with student SSID and other testing information can be found in Illuminate in a report named “CAASPP Labels” (creative, I know…). When you open the report, click on “Labels” on the tool bar in the grey banner then click “Download”. You can print directly to label sheets or print to regular paper and adhere them to an index card. THESE ARE SECURE TESTING MATERIALS, and should be locked up nightly.

Please submit Read Leader names to RoseAnn by Monday, Feb 25th. We will have an event kick off on Monday, March 4th during flag salute. Details about the kick off and spirit activities coming soon. Thank you to RoseAnn for her leadership in coordinating this campaign.
