CAASPP LABELS– Labels with student SSID and other testing information can be found in Illuminate in a report named “CAASPP Labels” (creative, I know…). You can print directly to label sheets or print to regular paper and adhere them to an index card. THESE ARE SECURE TESTING MATERIALS, and should be locked up nightly.

REPORT CARDS– The window for Report Cards will be open Monday, February 4th.Attendance data will be populated on Wednesday, February 20th by 5pm. Please remember to use a text editor, like Google Docs or MS Word to type your comments and copy/paste to the report cards. Also, remember to SAVE OFTEN.
Read Across America- March 4-8
Please submit Read Leader names to RoseAnn by Monday, Feb 25th. We will have an event kick off on Monday, March 4th during flag salute. Details about the kick off and spirit activities coming soon. Thank you to RoseAnn for her leadership in coordinating this campaign.
Classroom Doors Should Always Be Locked:
To ensure your safety and the safety of the students in our care, please keep your classrooms doors locked and if you choose, use the door blocks to allow for students to come and go without knocking. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please submit a work order if your door block does not function properly.
Changes to TC Sequence/information about the Test Prep Unit- Upper Grade Only
The sequence has changed to make room for the TCRWP Test Prep Reading and Writing Units. This unit is NOT in lieu of a unit, NOR is it meant to insert now before Spring Break. Continue on with your next unit and start the Test Prep Unit in April.
The TOSAs will be having a collab on April 9th around the Test Prep unit and will have a calendar for you which includes time for the practice and training tests. You can sign up for that collab here.
Materials will be distributed for you in March.
The Test Prep Unit is set to be completed by May 3rd, which will be the 2nd week of CAASPP math testing. On May 6th, the week you start CAASPP ELA testing, you’ll begin your final unit on the sequence.
Other District Professional Development Opportunities:

Join your colleagues and Literacy TOSAs for a series of 3 professional development sessions addressing the needs of your striving readers.  We will focus on readers workshop, taking teachers through the process of planning and scheduling small group instruction that supports the needs of students reading significantly below grade level. Instructional methods and resources will be shared.

While we encourage you to attend all three sessions, as the information and practices will build on each other, teachers are welcome to attend those sessions that are of most interest to them.
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2019 FROM 3:30-5:00 pm
Out-Of-Contract Pay Provided
LESSON DESIGN FOR LANGUAGE LEARNERS is planned for Monday, March 4 from 3:30-5:00 at the Education Center. As in the past, out-of-contract pay will be provided.  It’s an excellent opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and exchange ideas.
Please take a moment to sign up and mark your calendars.  ALL teachers grades 3-8 are invited to attend.  We will continue to discuss ongoing assessment and lesson design to meet the needs of our diverse population of language learners.  Hope to see you there!
Getting Ready for our Math Labsite:
Our focus will be on Questioning and Conferring with students.  Due to the limited time together, if possible please review Chapter 5 from Thinking Together prior to us meeting.  Michelle Syverson included a graphic organizer that we will use when discussing the chapter.
