Report Cards and IEP Goal Progress:
As a reminder, you will send report cards home on October 27.
IEP Goal Progress reporting:
Any student receiving Special Education services must have their progress on IEP goals updated and sent home along with the report card.

I sent an email letting you know that you may select “na” using the drop down menu for students who are fluent in English.

Google Expeditions Augmented Reality:
Google will be at Emory on Monday, October 30th. You will receive your scheduled 25 minute time slot by Tuesday. Thank you for your willingness to adjust your daily schedules to make this happen for our students.
- Mark your calendar we will meet from 7:30-7:55 on Monday October 30th in room 23
- Group students into groups of 3-4
Thanks to Laura, Connie, Heather, Sharon and Monica for supporting Imagine Learning this year! Licenses may be used during the school day and/or in our before or after school sessions. Thank you for returning permission slips. Last year we purchased 100 licenses, this year, we have only purchased 70. Before and after school sessions will begin the week of Oct 23.
As a reminder it is recommended that students in grades K-2 use ST Math for 60 minutes per week and grades 3-6 use it for 90 minutes. It is recommended that students use it for no fewer than 20 minutes per session.
Red Ribbon Week:
Red Ribbon Week will be Oct 23-27. The theme is “Your Future is Key, So Stay Drug Free”. See the email from Laura Acosta with lesson ideas and other helpful documents. See excerpt of message from Laura below:
“please remind students of the theme for each day, or send in class dojo. Some students might not realize until they see everyone that day. I will put posters around, but if you can put reminders in your class it would be great.
Here are the themes for each day:
Monday: Kick off day- “Red Day”- wear red (you can even let students write in red that day, up to you 😉
Tuesday: “Turn your back on drugs”- wear clothes backwards day
Wednesday: “Team up against drugs”- wear jersey or team shirt
Thursday: “Follow your dreams, don’t do drugs” – wear pajamas
Friday: “Superheroes have the power to say NO”- wear your favorite superhero shirt

Eagle Pride Reward Tshirt:
Thank you for your hard work developing criteria for your team’s reward t-shirt. As a reminder, they must be finalized by Wed. Oct 25th. Please be sure you have shared with me your final draft (in paper or via google docs. No later than Nov 3rd, please share this information with your students and families. Cindy Pillado has the t-shirts and will be your point of contact to obtain them for your students.
Restraining Orders Update Office:
This week I attended a meeting about revising our site safety plan. We were advised by the Sheriff’s Department to let staff know that if you have a restraining order against any person, to please provide that information to me so that we may support your and our safety.

Teacher’s College Visits to Emory and Learning and Innovation Labsite Date:
Our Labsite week with Learning and Innovation schedule for Nov 6-10 has been cancelled and a 1 day Writing Workshop Labsite has been scheduled for 11/29.

As the dates approach, I will develop a schedule for the time of day that you will be out of your classroom. Also, rather than meet with grade level bands, you will meet as a grade level team with the developer.

It is recommended do not hang headphones on the tower. Either lay them down on the keyboard or hang them on the side of the table. Connie has taken time to put zip tags on each headphone to organize the long cord. Please do not let students remove the zip tags. Please do not let student take off the soft headphone cushions. Please email Teresa with any problems with a computer that needs a work order.
Point Loma Upcoming Visits:
We are excited to continue to host students from Point Loma Nazarene. As a reminder, these students are enrolled in an art class and this will be their first time teaching students. We are excited to for these students to provide two lessons about a famous artist to our students. Thank you Dene, Sharon, Georgina, Maria, Rebecca, Jeanne, RoseAnn, Leslie, Aranzazu, Monica and Erika!
