Imagine Learning

The goal for students that have an Imagine Learning license is that they use the program for 80-100 minutes per week. Students attending before and after school consistently should meet their goal. If you would like to see the usage data for your students, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into imaginelearning.com (If you have not set up your password, enter your email and click on forgot my password to reset your password)
  2. From the menu on the left, select Usage
  3. Click on Groups and select your grade level group
  4. Scroll down and you will be able to see how many minutes the students have spent on Imagine Learning for the week

I will continue to help and answer questions during PLC meetings this week, as needed.

Coach’s Corner:

Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment – Where to start

As you begin to prepare for round 2 of Fountas & Pinnell assessments, you may be asking yourself, “Which levels should I start assessing with?” It is suggested that you start assessing each student at his/her instructional level with the text genre opposite of what he/she had been tested. For example, if the student tested at instructional L with non-fiction, then you may assess at level L with the fiction text. If the student has been assessed with both texts at a level, it is not necessary to assess the student with the same text again. You may then move on to the next level. A benchmark is determined by assessing with previously unseen text. If a student is assessed a second time with the same text, chances are they will do better and you might have skewed results.

Reading Pathways Book Club:

We will begin a Book Club with our focus book being Reading Pathways from the Units of Study Kit. Book Club Members, who attend all sessions, will receive an Emory staff bookclub t-shirt and the opportunity to purchase a book for their classroom library or a professional text. Our first meeting date is Wednesday December 14th.
